The City of Sherbrooke will allow the prospective buyers of a park in the borough of Brompton-Rock Forest-St-Elie-Deauville to withdraw their offer to purchase and to refund the deposit that was made.
Last May, City Council authorized the sale of Willie-Bourassa-Auger Park for the construction of a single-family home at the location, subject to the amendment of the Zoning By-law to recognize residential use on this property. Subsequently, several citizens expressed concerns and voiced opposition to the project. As a result, in June, as part of the Zoning By-law amendment process, the city clerk received a valid registry request for RU1324 requiring a registration of qualified voters (Registry).
