Last week the Commission municipale du Québec (CMQ) published its decision to clear Lennoxville Borough President Claude Charron of two allegations of breach of ethics in the municipal code of conduct.
On July 9 a citation was filed alleging Charron had committed two breaches of the Codes of Ethics and Professional Conduct for Elected Officials of the City of Sherbrooke.
The allegations stemmed from business dealings spanning a seven-year period from Nov. 3, 2013 and March 31, 2020 between the Lennoxville Library and Estampes Illustra inc. a company in which Charron is a principal shareholder. During that period Estampes Illustra inc. entered into several contracts for goods and services with the Lennoxville Library for a total amount of $1,600.54.
