CNESST asks workers and employers to  stay vigilant

The Commission des normes, de l’équité, de la santé et de la sécurité du travail (CNESST) released a statement reminding people to stay vigilant, after several serious work-related accidents were reported throughout the last few weeks in the Eastern Townships.
With the holidays right around the corner, and pandemic fatigue setting in, CNESST hopes workers will continue to uphold health and safety standards. However, in a press release, the commission put the onus on employers to ensure the safety of their employees.
According to the CNESST, employers need to conduct a proper risk assessment and develop a work plan. They are also obligated to supply an adequate training program for workers and provide capable supervisors.
