Coaticook and architect offer free web conference on renovating old homes

Tuesday, March. 15, the MRC of Coaticook is offering an online conference on renovating heritage buildings titled Patrimoine 2022 (Heritage 2022).

The event is free to the public, but pre-registration is required. To register, email s.masse@mrcdecoaticook.qc.ca in advance.

Starting at 7 p.m., architect Dominique Poirat will talk about best practices when renovating, with a focus on exterior restoration to enhance the architectural style of your home.

The presentation will cover topics such as roofing, cladding, openings, ornamentations, galleries and balconies. After each theme, Poirat will respond to related questions from participants. Jean-Pierre Pelletier, a member of the MRC’s cultural roundtable, will moderate.

Poirat is an architect with the Service d’aide-conseil en renovation patrimoniale (the heritage renovation consulting service), a non-profit organization founded in 1996 that works with Quebec municipalities and MRCs to develop accessible tools adapted for rural and urban communities.
