Lennoxville and District Community Aid is a vital lifeline for many seniors in the Lennoxville, Waterville and North Hatley area. However, with government shutdowns and pandemic restrictions changing frequently, the organization has found helping seniors more challenging in recent months.
“We’ve had to close down in the fall and again in December when everything shut down again,” explained Sylvie Fowlis, director of Lennoxville and District Community Aid. “We are now able to do some of the groups via Zoom, but some of our important programs such as exercise or prevention of falls have not been able to continue online.” These important programs being halted has been a concern for the organization, since the program was important for those who participated to increase their energy and to help them stay autonomous.
