Community groups unite to demand government support

It was a busy day for community organizations in Sherbrooke and across Quebec yesterday. United in a common front, some 4,000 organizations in different parts of the province used strike action, held demonstrations and presented petitions to local politicians demanding that more funding and resources be allotted to community organizations in the upcoming budget. In Sherbrooke, the morning started off with demonstrators gathered in front of the offices at 200 Belvédère Street North in Sherbrooke to hold a staged disruption as part of the “Engagez-vous pour le communautaire” initiative.
