Community meeting to take place on the future of Black Cat Books

With Black Cat Books not having found a buyer since owner Janice LaDuke announced her intention to retire in early June, a group of concerned local citizens is planning a meeting to try to secure the future of one of the region’s only English bookstores.
“What we’re organizing is a first meeting to try to get people from the community together to see who might be interested in trying to mobilize and actually put in the hard work to keep the Black Cat going,” said Christian Collins.
Although many know Collins through his work as coordinator of the Lennoxville Library, he explained that this meeting is not a library initiative, but rather came out of a conversation he had with Rachel Garber, editor of the Townships Sun Magazine, and John Mackley.
