By Matthew McCully – After much debate, and a brief delay once demolition began, the town hall in Compton is reduced to rubble. Work began on June 25 but was put on hold after a CNESST complaint was filed alleging the presence of asbestos in the building. When submitted for tests, less than one per cent asbestos was detected in the foundation and debris collected. Crews got back to the job of demolishing the building early Wednesday morning.
