The team organizing this year’s Cookshire fair held a press conference on Thursday morning to preview the programming for the 174th edition. Led by organizing committee members Nicholas Lachance and Audrey Perron-Breault, Thursday’s gathering offered a taste of what is to come at the Cookshire fairgrounds from August 15 to 19. Both Cookshire mayor Sylvie-Lapointe and Haute-Saint-Francois MRC Prefect Robert Roy praised the longevity of the fair and its ongoing role as a community rallying point in the region. “We are delighted to have this jewel in our community,” Lapointe said, with Roy adding, “Long life to the Cookshire Fair, et longue vie a l’expo de Cookshire!”
