Cookshire strike moves to mediation

The ongoing negotiations between the town of Cookshire-Eaton and its municipal employees are now in the hands of a mediator, according to representatives on both sides of the issue. The town workers, who have been without a new contract since December of 2017, walked off the job on July 23 and are now providing only essential services such as aqueduct repair. “We will see how it goes,” said Cookshire Mayor Sylvie Lapointe on Thursday morning, sharing a hope that the two parties will be able to resolve the matter quickly. “We’ve made offers, now we have to see if they will accept or not.” See full story in the Friday, August 3 edition of The Record.
