Covid-19 cases back over 1,000 in Quebec

Quebec reported 1,078 new cases of COVID-19 in the province in the last 24
hours, bringing the total number of people infected to 82,992. Two new deaths occurred in the last 24 hours, and seven other deaths from recent weeks were attributed to the virus, for a total of 5,915 in Quebec.
The number of hospitalizations increased by 16 bringing the total to 425. Among those, the number of people in intensive care increased by 6, for a total of 68.
In the Estrie region, 25 new cases were reported in the last day bringing the local total to1,950.
Three new outbreaks were declared on the territory served by the CIUSSS de l’Estrie-CHUS; A pulp and paper mill in Val Saint-Francois, École secondaire Haute-Ville in the Haute-Yamaska and Sherbrooke’s Hôtel-Dieu are being monitored with under five new cases at each location.
