The Estrie Regional Environment Council (CREE) is organizing a province-wide forum on green house gas reduction in Ste-Catherine-de-Hatley this spring. The Council was mandated last spring to implement a regional strategy to fight against climate change. This commitment follows the Par notre PROPRE énergie (2009-2014) initiative, which aimed to provide Eastern Townships with consultation mechanisms to decrease the regions' dependence on fossil fuels, and to put in place strategies for facilitating the use of renewable energy.
