The theme for the third edition of Stanstead’s Culture Days last weekend, September 27 through 29, was “Encounters.” “Culture is an extraordinary tool to expand our understanding of human experience,” organizer Jean-Michel Lamothe wrote in his foreword in the event program. “Can we wish something better in life than make great encounters, enjoyable and exciting encounters; encounters which make us expand our horizons and live new enriching experiences?” The weekend began Friday night with a well-attended concert at Ye Olde Blacksmith Shop art gallery in Rock Island featuring musicians playing unique instruments.
