Curling for Christian unity

Curling for Christian unity

According to the Canadian Council of Churches, The week of prayer for Christian unity is an annual celebration that invites Christians around the world to pray, to reflect on scripture, and to participate in jointly-organized ecumenical services together in the name of sharing fellowship regardless of the differences between different denominations. Here in the Eastern Townships, a group of churches has taken on a slightly different, and distinctly Canadian, interpretation of what church fellowship can mean through the “Battle of the churches” curling bonspiel. Now in its seventh year, the bonspiel includes teams from Saint-Barnabas and Saint-George’s Anglican Churches, Waterville-North Hatley and Lennoxville United Churches, and Saint-Andrew’s Presbyterian in Lennoxville.
