An English screening of the film “Dear Audrey” was held at the petite église d´Austin cultural centre over the weekend with filmmaker Jeremiah Hayes and noted Canadian documentary director Martin Duckworth in attendance. According to Anne Élizabeth Sant, Executive director of Les Amis de la petite église d Austin, the group that manages the space, the event drew a full house of 90 people.
“Dear Audrey” focuses on Duckworth’s efforts to care for his wife Audrey following an Alzheimer’s diagnosis. Apart from being moving for many people facing similar struggles, Sant pointed out that the screening also had significance for the community as Duckworth is a descendant of Nicholas and Phebe Austin, the founders of the town.
