Decontamination work in the parking lot of the former S.W. Hooper building at the corner of Galt and Belvédère streets has recently been completed. The work was necessary because groundwater analysis following the first phase of its 2004 rejuvenation revealed the presence of free-phase petroleum hydrocarbons in part of the site.
