“It’s a crisis situation,” said Sylvie Moreault, Director of Senior Autonomy Support Services at the CIUSSS de l’Estrie – CHUS , at a press conference yesterday in East Angus.
Morealut explained that since last spring, 75 beds have gradually opened in 12 different CHSLD’s across the territory, but an unprecedented demand for beds at the hospital has forced the institution to implement emergency measures.
