Destination Sherbrooke offers microbrewery tours

Microbrewery beers are popular everywhere and Sherbrooke is no exception to the trend. Destination Sherbrooke kicked off its Sherbrooke Microbreweries tour on Thursday, offering different tours where beer lovers will be able to discover six local microbreweries.
Sherbrooke’s love affair with micro-brewed beers is more than forty years old and began in Lennoxville with Quebec’s first microbrewery, The Golden Lion, in 1973.. Since then, five other establishments have sprung up all over the city.
Faced with this growing craze, the idea of designing a tourist tour-route for beer lovers has become prevalent and, after a survey of more than 300 people, the desire to set up a Sherbrooke Microbreweries Tour was demonstrated. In fact, more than 60 per cent of respondents said they wanted an unguided walking tour circuit, followed closely by a car tour. Therefore, it was decided to offer both.
