Now hold on, not everyone went as far as wings and sparkles to get ready for Cookshire Fair, but there certainly was a sense of excitement to get back to much-loved traditions on the fairgrounds over the weekend.
The grandstand was close to full on Saturday afternoon to see the draft and light horse hitches, and the arm-wrestling competition under the Winslow Tent also drew a decent crowd.
According to several fairgoers, Friday night had one of the biggest crowds people ever remembered seeing, another sign locals were happy to get back to a sense of normalcy.
