Just under a dozen gathered in front of East Clifton United Church on Tuesday afternoon to mark the 100th anniversary of the death of Sergeant George E. Thompson. Thompson, one of four “East Clifton Boys” to be killed in the First World War, was remembered as a hero by a collection of his great nieces and nephews through the sharing of stories as well as the presentation of several artifacts from his time of service which will now be preserved in the museum at the Army, Navy & Air Force Veterans in Canada “Hut” in Lennoxville.
