Empty Bowls Project postponed due to Orange alert

With the recent decision on the part of the provincial government to move the Estrie region into the orange alert level, the group behind the programming at Lennoxville’s Square Queen public space has decided to cancel all events, including the yearly Empty Bowls fundraiser.
In a post on the Explore Lennox facebook page, the organization announced the cancellations, saying they’ve “decided to cancel all events planned at the Square Queen and to participate in the collective effort to protect you, as well as to protect the team, volunteers, and artists.”
Lucy Doheny, the organizer and potter behind empty bowls, said that she is hoping that they will be able to reschedule the event to some time in November.
“I’m sad to say that our Empty Bowls has been postponed,” Doheny said, adding that shehas encountered several people who share her hopes for a later date. “It does give me time to make more bowls though.”
Doheny said that, so long as the orange and red alert phases persist, the event will be postponed
“We are postponing it until the orange alert is over. Hopefully we will go back to green in November.”
