By Emilie Hackett, Special to the Record – Estrie Aide is inviting the Eastern Townships’ population to its seventh annual used bicycle sale on Saturday, May 4 from 8 a.m. till noon at the Estrie Aide store at 352 Wellington Street South. This project is an Estrie Aide initiative, in collaboration with the City of Sherbrooke and the Université de Sherbrooke’s La Déraille Coop. Around 400 bikes will be up for grabs this year, and a protective helmet will be provided with each bicycle sale. The helmets are a courtesy of Estrie Aide, along with the City of Sherbrooke and the Défi Tête Première, which aims to raise awareness about the importance of helmet use while cycling. Défi Tête Première has provided nearly 4,000 helmets to low income families. See full story in the Thursday, April 25 edition of The Record.
