By Matthew McCully – During a brief two-week campaign, students and staff from the Eastern Townships School Board (ETSB) collected 741 pairs of socks that will be donated to homeless shelters in Sherbrooke, Drummondville and Granby. The idea for the sock drive came about when Massey-Vanier High School teacher Gail Klinck was attending a social justice committee meeting for QPAT. When another member mentioned that shelters were in need of socks to offer to clients, Klinck said all the committee members brought the idea back to their unions.
