By Matthew McCully – During the annual Eastern Townships School Board United in Music festival, organizers took a moment during the concert to pay tribute to Heroes’ Memorial Music Specialist Laura Barr, who will be retiring at the end of this year. Sherbrooke Elementary Music Specialist Tracey Rivette pointed out Barr’s hard work and dedication over the years, and presented her with a special painting. During the festival, Barr’s students performed an upbeat tune, Bus 24, composed by Barr’s husband John. Published in the April 16 edition of the Brome County News.
