A four-day workshop known as Common Fibres took place this weekend at Bishop’s University’s John Molson building, where visitors came to experience knowledge-sharing workshops focused on natural materials and skills.
Hosted by the Champlain College and Bishop’s Faculty and organized by Assistant Professor Regine Neumann, the paid event brought 12 experienced artisans from all over to share their unique skills through 16 different workshops.
“We want to talk about natural materials; how to use our land and natural materials, or what we’re growing, to make art. To turn plants into dyes or pigments or into paper materials,” said Neumann.
