The Sherbrooke Expos ultimately failed to mount a miraculous comeback against the Montreal Jets, after climbing out of a 3-0 series deficit in the quarter-finals, and pushing the second best team in the Ligue de Baseball Majeur du Québec (LBMQ) to six games.
Staring into the abyss, the Expos clawed their way back into the series with two nail-biting wins over the weekend. But they failed to get much going on offense in game six on Tuesday evening at Amedée Roy Stadium. Sherbrooke fell to Montreal, 6-3, in the deciding game.
“It’s difficult to win ball games when you only get five hits. The story of this game was essentially one inning. We scored two at the bottom of the second inning and then at the top of the third we gave five runs back, including a three-run home run,” said Manager Bruno Laurin.
