The Sherbrooke Police Service sent out a press release on Thursday to advise the public that several counterfeit US $50 bills are currently in circulation on the territory.
Any citizens who happen upon a counterfeit bill are asked to immediately contact the SPS at (819) 821-5555.
The Bank of Canada website ( www.banqueducanada.ca/billets/prevention-de-la-contrefacon/) provides information to help business owners and members of the public how to spot counterfeit bills and how to avoid being stuck with counterfeit Canadian or US bills.
