A family (two adults and three children) that had been invited to visit a cottage on Brunelle Road in Orford Township last week discovered a spy camera positioned in the bathroom during their stay. Samuel Beaugé-Malenfant, a 25-year-old man from Montreal, was arrested in connection with the camera and faces charges of voyeurism and possession of child pornography. On Sunday morning Aug. 5, around 1 a.m. patrol officers from the Memphremagog Police Department responded to a call for a suicidal individual on Brunelle Road in Orford Township. When they arrived, the individual, later identified as Beaugé-Malenfant, had left the scene in a car. He was carrying a knife and said that he wanted to kill himself. The family staying at the cottage then explained the sequence of events to police officers. See full story in the Thursday, August 9 edition of The Record.
