Federal public servants demonstrate in Lennoxville

By Bird Bouchard

On strike since one minute past midnight Wednesday, more than 135,000 Federal public servants who are members of the Public Service Alliance of Canada (PSAC) demonstrated their anger on Wednesday morning.

In Lennoxville, approximately three dozen strikers were visible in front of Compton-Stanstead MP Marie-Claude Bibeau’s office since 8 a.m. Wednesday morning.

PSAC members have been without a contract since negotiations with the federal government began in 2021.

“These workers, like all workers, deserve fair wages and decent working conditions,” said Chris Aylward, PSAC National President in a statement. “We’ve been at the table for nearly two years and these workers can’t wait any longer. That’s why we’re setting a clock on this round of bargaining.”
