Festival prep means reduced access to Jacques Cartier park area this week

The City of Sherbrooke is advising the public that preparation and set-up work for the annual Fête du lac des Nations festival will begin this coming Thursday, July 14. As a result, although the festival itself will not open to the public until Tuesday, July 19, Jacques-Cartier Park, as well as the walkway on the north and south sides of the lake will be inaccessible to the public between 11 p.m. this coming Thursday and July 28 at 7 a.m.
Partial access to the walkway will be restored one day earlier, on the 27, as of 7 a.m.
In addition to restrictions on pedestrian access, vehicle access to Marchant, Marcil, and Salls streets will also be reduced from Friday, July 18 to Monday, July 25 Between the hours of 10 a.m. and 1 a.m.
Marchant and Marcil Streets will be completely closed to all traffic on the nights of July 19-24 between 9 p.m. and 10:45 p.m.
