The 10th edition of Fière la Fête, hosted by Fierté Sherbrooke Pride, kicked off on Tuesday with a plethora of free and accessible activities planned between Aug. 23 and 27, including a family brunch, a literary evening, community day, and capped off by a Diversity March.
According to Pierre McCann, co-president for this year’s event alongside actress, speaker, comedian, writer and poet, Gabrielle Boulianne-Tremblay, organizing the event has proven to be a challenge, testing the organization’s resources. However, he added, everything is ready.
“Every year is a challenge. It’s a challenge at the financing level. It’s a challenge at the mobilization of the community level, which isn’t as big in the Eastern Townships,” McCann told The Record in a phone interview Monday, adding he expects hundreds to partake in the event.
