Fire at Sawyerville recycling plant

By Matthew McCully

Despite losing its recycling plant in a fire early Saturday morning, Stanley & Dany Taylor Transport said regular operations for the business will not be affected. “Nothing has changed,” explained Nathalie Veilleux, wife of the owner and spokesperson for the Sawyerville company. “Yes, the recycling plant burned,” Veilleux said, “but pickups are the same. We are still there, still giving the same service.” “We’re sad and disappointed,” Veilleux went on, “but we’re not going anywhere, we’re not stopping anything.” Veilleux said they received a call at 3:35 a.m. on Saturday from someone they know saying the plant was on fire. Veilleux called her son who lives by and asked him to look out the window and see if it was true. “Oh my God Mom, it’s on fire,” her son said. “We got there at 3:50 a.m. The walls were already falling,” Veilleux, adding firefighters were already on the scene.
