The Tournoi provincial midget – junior de Fleurimont is making its grand return this coming Thursday, Feb. 2, after a two-year pause in the action as a result of Covid-19 restrictions.
From Feb. 2 to 5 and 9 to 12, 42 hockey teams from across Quebec will try to take top honors in the M18-AA, A and B categories and in junior A.
The president of the organizing committee, Sylvain Richard, says he is breathing a sigh of relief after two years of cancellation.
“We had hoped to be able to present our tournament in Feb. 2022, but the sanitary measures in place at the time got the better of the Hockey Sherbrooke tournaments,” Richard commented in a press release announcing the return. “We were ready to present the tournament a little later in the spring. However, the availability of ice was an issue. We are back now and we are very happy!”
