Luc Fortin, Sherbrooke’s Member of the National Assembly, says that his greatest point of pride in looking back on the year 2015 is his role in securing the city’s candidacy for the 2021 Francophonie Games.
“I believe we will get the games,” Fortin said as the lead-off to the review of his accomplishments in 2015. “I think that 2016 will present us with some pleasant surprises on that front.”
The MNA, who gave a nod to the local interest expressed in hosting the international sports event in his 2014 year in review, said that he has been behind the project from day one having seen what the city accomplished with the Canada Games and pointed out that the city is well placed to carry the candidacy put forward by the Province of Quebec.
