Four campuses in Sherbrooke mark Truth and Reconciliation Week

Friday, Sept. 30 marks the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation, but four campuses across Sherbrooke have been buzzing with activities since Monday to mark Truth and Reconciliation Week— a first time event being run by PRESE, the Estrie Higher Education Hub. Throughout the week the four participating institutions— Bishop’s University, Champlain College Lennoxville, Université de Sherbrooke and the Cégep de Sherbrooke— ran a series of activities and initiatives which were open to students and the general public alike. The week had something for everyone as the activities varied in nature, ranging from conferences and panels to documentary screenings and artistic performances. According to a press release from PRESE, the aim of Truth and Reconciliation Week is to raise awareness about the present and past realities of Indigenous Peoples.
