Full house, Empty Bowls

By Matthew McCully

An Empty Bowls event was held on Saturday in the downstairs of Hope Community Church. The ‘come for the soup, leave with the bowl’ fundraiser had its biggest turnout yet, Lucy Doheny said. The soup was provided by local chef and caterer Billy Lidstone, currently working out of guest kitchens following a recent fire. Doheny and volunteer Geraldine McGurk also helped with the cooking, but according to Doheny, “Billy made a lot of soup!” Les Vraies Richesses bakery provided the bread for the meal, which ran from 11:30 a.m. until 1 p.m. See full story in the Monday, Nov. 11 edition of The Record.
