The Wales Home’s activity department organized a beach party on Thursday to bring a little warm weather and sunshine to an otherwise drab winter day. Carol Ann McElrea, the home’s Activity coordinator explained that in addition to reminding people of the summertime in the middle of winter, part of the inspiration behind the event was to make the most of the renovations currently underway on the building.
“We have to relocate things, so we’re trying to make it fun,” she said. “We asked people to get dressed up in their ugliest Hawaiian shirts and silly beach hats and stuff.” See full story in the Friday, Feb. 28 edition of The Record.
