Gaiters continue annual Pumpkin Patrol tradition
Bishop’s University is the home of over 300 student athletes in 9 varsity teams. Around 100 Gaiters will be patrolling the Lennoxville streets dressed in purple between 5 and 8 p.m. for Halloween tonight, giving out candy and ensuring all trick or treaters have a fun and safe experience.

By Emilie Hackett, Special to the Record – In the past decade, Bishop’s University’s student athletes have gathered in the Lennoxville streets on Halloween night to participate in the annual Pumpkin Patrol initiative. Members of all nine Varsity teams help Lennoxville children have a safe and fun Halloween night as they trick or treat throughout town this Wednesday, Oct. 31. Covering a large area, from Downs Street to Charlotte Street, and spanning from Oxford Crescent to the Atto Beaver neighbourhood, hundreds of Gaiters student athletes will patrol the streets. Bishop’s head of security will distribute the patrol routes and split them between the students and security staff, ensuring that volunteers are present throughout Lennoxville.
