Bishop’s Principal Michael Goldbloom will have his name etched in the school’s history books forever.
Hundreds of Bishop’s Gaiters student-athletes, faculty members, coaches, friends and family packed the Jane & Eric Molson Arena on Feb. 10 for a surprise celebration Goldboom said he didn’t see coming.
According to Goldbloom, he thought he was invited to read the starting line-up in the dressing room prior to puck drop as the Women’s hockey team hosted the McGill Redbirds.
Little did he know, he was surprised by the revealing of a banner with his name hanging from the Jane & Eric Molson Arena rafters.
“His support and care for students, including more than 350 student-athletes is admirable. We would like to honour Goldbloom with a banner that will hang proudly in our arena from now on,” said the public address announcer as the student section started a “Gold-bloom” chant.
