Gaiters trade hoops for groceries for the Galt Christmas Basket Fund

By Emilie Hackett, Special to the Record – The Bishop’s University’s men’s basketball team will be bagging groceries at Provigo Robert Lafond in Lennoxville from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 8, to raise money for the Alexander Galt Christmas Basket Fund (AGCBF). A holiday tradition for the Gaiters, they started raising funds for the AGCBF 11 years ago. The initiative was started by former Gaiters assistant coach Charles Kobelt, as a way for the Bishop’s student-athletes to thank the community that gives them so much support every season.
