By Emilie Hackett, Special to the Record – Alexander Galt Regional High School’s Cycle 1 drama concentration student will be presenting their spring musical, Seussical Jr. on Saturday, June 1, at the school’s auditorium at 10 a.m. and 7 p.m. Written by Lynn Ahrens and Stephen Flaherty, Seussical Jr. is an eclectic combination of Dr. Seuss characters and plot points all into one colourful musical show. Produced by drama teacher Adriana Lyons and directed by Bishop’s University student Lynsey Sylvester, the show is performed by 27 Grade 7 and 8 students. This year’s production is taking an interesting turn with its new concept of traveling theatre. All 27 students, Lyons, and Sylvester are travelling with mobile sets and costumes to different elementary schools in the area. So far, they have visited Sawyerville Elementary School and Sherbrooke Elementary School. They will be taking Seussical Jr. to Lennoxville Elementary School on Wednesday, and then hosting Ayer’s Cliff Elementary later throughout the week.
