By Emilie Hackett, Special to the Record – Estrie Aide’s fourth edition of “Garbage Art” was a great success this Friday, Dec. 14. Jessica Chabot, Stephane Verreault, Jacob Audet, and Guy Lapierre worked for over six hours to create original pieces made of recycled items that would otherwise be sent to landfills. Claude Belleau, Estrie Aide’s executive director, Bishop’s University alumnus and former United Nations humanitarian worker, could not hide his satisfaction. “It’s a truly inspiring event,” he explained, moments before joining the Estrie Aide’s Christmas carollers in a 30-minute performance. “We prioritize recycling and reusing to minimize our environmental impact, and this event helps show our customers that it can be a fun and creative process too.” See full story in the Monday, Dec. 17 edition of The Record.
