Record Staff – Lennoxville’s Giant Pumpkin and Harvest Festival will be held this Sunday, Oct. 14, from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Fire Hall on Samuel-Gratham St. behind the Lennoxville Borough Office. The popular annual event has been organized in partnership with the Lennoxville Volunteer Firefighters Association Inc., the Giant Pumpkin Association, and Clarke & Sons, and offers a family friendly day with a multitude of activities for young and old alike. The Record’s own Steve Young has been participating in the giant pumpkin contest for the last few years. With the help of his children Hailey and Sean, Young placed third in 2016 with a pumpkin weighing a whopping 750 pounds. Last year, in what was widely considered a difficult growing year, Young’s pumpkin came in third place. This year, Young ‘guestimates’ that his pumpkin is in the 550-pound range, so he hopes it will place well. See full story in the Friday, October 12 edition of The Record.
