By Matthew McCully – Ayer’s Cliff is inviting the public to Massawippi Beach on March 2 for its second annual Spring Break Fishing event. “It’s a good way to start off March break,” explained Ayer’s cliff Town Manager Kimball Smith. This is the second year the municipality is hosting the event, which will offer participants an opportunity to learn how to ice fish, while enjoying a variety of activities out on the ice of Lake Massawippi. “A lot of people don’t have equipment,” Smith said.
Thanks to a partnership with the Massawippi Conservation Club, around 20 volunteers will be on hand to help locals cast a line and learn about fishing during the winter months. See full story in the Thursday, Feb. 21 edition of The Record.
