Starting this spring, a new project at Grace Village will allow relationships and activities between the seniors at the residence and the community’s youth to expand and flourish to provide positive intergenerational experiences. A press conference was held Tuesday at Grace Village to announce the new project, part of the provincial governments Intergenerational Exchanges program. Funding in the amount of $100,000 was provided by the Youth Secretariat for the new project, called ‘The intergenerational experience at the heart of the well-being of a community.’ Taking place over the course of one year, the project will provide new opportunities to Grace Village that will allow them to continue to establish themselves as a pillar in the community. In the fall of 2019, The Youth Secretariat launched a call for projects that support intergenerational dialogue. See full story in the Wednesday, March 4 edition of The Record.
