Although the holdiday season has long come and gone, the organizing committee behind the Chirstmas basket campaign in the greater Richmond area is taking a moment to celebrate the contributions made by the local communities.
Thanks to the generosity of local businesses, organizations and the citizens of Richmond and the surrounding areas, the members of the committee are proud to have been able to support 176 people, including 47 children.
As in years past, the 2021 campaign benefitted greatly from the support of the region’s young people, who organized a series of significant fundraisers. Elliana and Isabelle Buckland, for example, raised $871 by selling homemade decorations.
The committee members also highlighted the contributions of Bianca Boisvert, Eduardo Araujo, Alexandra Adam, Carl Coddington, Angelie Fredette, Abigail Moore and Lucretia Coddington from the Richmond Regional High School student council who raised $2,087 within that scool community. Meanwhile Jessica Prior and Sabrina Morin collected $2,388 at St-Francis Elementary School.
The committee also benefitted from the support of the Sûreté du Québec to help make their campaign a success.
