By Matthew McCully – A lot of people might consider running to the grocery store, vacuuming the house or doing a load of laundry mundane tasks to fit into a day. For community members with physical disabilities, the daily grind that most people take for granted can be a major challenge without assistance. Handi Apte is an organization in Sherbrooke with a mandate to help people with physical disabilities. The organization started in 1981 when three young people with disabilities living at Youville proposed a test project to move into their own apartment to live independently. From there, Handi Apte was founded to help disabled people access services in order to live at home. See full story in the Wednesday, April 10 edition of The Record.
