I guess 126 doesn’t have the same ring to it as 100 or 125, but it’s certainly music to our ears to be able to celebrate another year of news-making and staying afloat in an ever-changing media landscape.
Also, publisher Sharon McCully will use almost any excuse to make a cake for the office.
Last year was an exciting one for The Record’s 125th, as we launched two new publications: Townships Weekend, a Saturday edition featuring a roster of talented and insightful writers, and The Point, a new monthly online edition sharing the voice of young Townshippers under 25.
Moving forward, we would like to extend our most sincere thanks to our readers and supporters who keep us honest, motivated, and inspired on a daily basis.
(And in case you were wondering, it was carrot cake, and it was delicious).
