By Taylor McClure, Special to The Record – On Sunday, July 14 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. 11 churches in the MRC du Haut-St-Françoise will open their doors to the public as part of La Route des Églises du Haut-Saint-François event organized by the Bury Historical and Heritage Society. There are various churches in the Haut-St-François area that play an important role in the history and heritage of the community. The Bury Historical Society wants their role to be recognized. Different activities will be taking place throughout the day that the public can take part in and visitors will also have the chance to view the inside of some of these churches. On their route, visitors can enjoy the John Henry Pope Exhibition taking place at St. Peter’s Church in Cookshire followed by a picnic and a mini concert. There will also be a bilingual ecumenical celebration at the St. Camille Church in Cookshire at 4 p.m. The theme of this year’s celebration will be Our Patrimonial Churches From the Past to the Future in Unity.
