Health professionals and technicians put pressure on Quebec government

Members of the Alliance du personnel professionnel et technique de la santé et des services sociaux (APTS) went on strike this week, June 7 and 8, to pressure the provincial government into returning to the negotiation table.
The APTS is made up 60,000 health professionals, technicians and social services workers in Quebec. There are roughly 4,500 members in the Eastern Townships. According to a press release, the two-day general strike action is in response to an 18-month stalemate.
